Founder dashboards fail when they become reporting museums
Most dashboards start with good intent and end as decoration. Every team adds a tile. Every vendor adds a chart. Nothing disappears because deleting a metric feels political. The founder opens it less often because the screen no longer answers the question that mattered: what should I do next?
A founder dashboard has to be edited aggressively. The first screen should show the few facts that change the day: the North Star, active priorities, stuck work, growth movement, cash or revenue signal, and exceptions that require a decision. Anything that does not change an action belongs behind a drill-down or in a report.
