On September 29, Meta made its Muse AI agent generally available to small businesses, with free access and paid tiers for larger use. Muse connects out of the box to platforms like Shopify, GoHighLevel, Stripe, and QuickBooks. This means almost every small business now has access to a free AI agent that plugs into the tools they already use.

But, as CIO.com reported three days later, the gap between buying AI and making it work is getting wider. Small businesses are adopting AI faster than large enterprises, but most teams do not have the process or training to use it properly. Free tools are not solving the problem, they are adding more systems for operators to manage, govern, and connect to actual business outcomes.
