What changed
AI adoption is now standard for US brick-and-mortar businesses. CIO reports that 89% of small and mid-sized businesses are using AI in some form. Bluevine puts the number at 74% for those using or testing AI. Investment is up sharply, with 57% of businesses putting money into AI systems, compared to 36% last year.
But most companies are not getting daily value. Only about 30% of employees use AI tools each day, according to the US Chamber of Commerce. The main reason is integration. Forty-six percent of businesses told CIO that connecting AI to their actual processes is the top blocker. Agencies and vendors have shifted pricing to match this need, moving away from hourly models to pricing based on working workflows and agent licensing.
