What changed
Recent reporting from Convert.com and Deloitte shows every agency now uses AI, but only a small fraction have made it part of their core delivery. Just 9% of agencies surveyed have built AI deep enough to call it a competitive edge. Most agencies that raised prices did so by moving to higher-value work, not by charging more for the same services with AI added.
The pricing model for software and services is changing. Deloitte and Gartner both report a shift away from seat-based subscriptions to hybrid models that blend usage and outcome-based pricing. This means the market is moving toward paying for results or usage, not just access. Most AI-native SaaS companies already use this approach, and enterprise spend is expected to follow.
