What changed
In the last ten days, both OpenAI and Google released persistent, identity-based AI agents. Reporting from T2 Online and Technobezz confirms these agents are now available in business-grade products. OpenAI’s Dots run on dedicated cloud computers and connect with over 4,000 apps. Google’s Gemini Agent for Work comes with its own email, calendar, and directory listing, operating across Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and Slack.
This ends the era where AI lived in a chat window. Now, these agents act as always-on digital coworkers with their own logins. But they only work on generic data and processes. They do not know your shop’s unique workflow, booking rules, or sales pipeline. The moat is now in building the integration layer that aligns AI with your exact process.
